Spa & Leisure
Close to the spa town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, famed for its reputedly healing ‘chalybeate’ or iron infused waters discovered in the 16th century, it is perhaps unsurprising that the staff at The Bridge really know what they are talking about when it comes to relaxation. Including a heat and ice experience that features an apple wood sauna, eucalyptus crystal steam room, drench shower, Japanese foot spas, an ice fountain, experience showers, footbaths, hydrotherapy pool, outdoor hot tub and plunge tub, and a Nordic barrel sauna, the spa is also home to a Snooze Room complete with its own balcony for the summer months, and hanging chairs in the Lavender Courtyard. Alongside multiple treatment rooms, there is a rasul mud room and dry floatation available, as well as a collection of face and body treatments.
Hotel & Accommodation
Owing its name to the 12th century bridge crossing the nearby River Nidd, The Bridge became a coaching station for stagecoaches in the 1800s – which is still reflected in its architecture, while the hotel and spa that it is today boasts traditional ‘Yorkshire hospitality’ and offers four different room categories with bright and cosy colour schemes.
Steeped in history, it is fitting that the bar is named Byron after the wayward Lord but with its oak panelling and inglenook fireplace it provides a cosy environment for an aperitif, while The Courtyard Restaurant with its local delicacies is a delight not to be missed.
