Hotel & Accommodation
Surrounded by the picturesque market town of Midhurst, it is fitting that the hotel’s own roots are inextricably linked with the area’s history as a coaching inn dating back to 1430. With leather chairs in the 15th century lounge, oak beams, and a huge open fire it retains its sense of the past not least of all with its Queen’s Suite, said to have accommodated Elizabeth I in 1591. The hotel is dog friendly.
The grand dining area is overseen by Head Chef Richard Cave-Toye serves a quintessentially British menu and has been awarded two AA Rosettes. During the summer, lunch is served is the less formal conservatory, on the terrace or in the inner courtyard – making the most of the hotel’s beautiful, understated gardens.
