Purpose-built in the 19th century walled garden of the Elizabethan manor house that comprises the hotel, the contemporary spa juxtaposes its otherwise traditional surrounds both in terms of design and its eco-friendly ethos using spring water from its own source, and natural light wherever possible. Wander into the walk-through rain shower using natural warm spring-water before swimming between indoor and outdoor heated pools; spend some time in the hot tub, sauna, steam room, relaxation rooms or if you are feeling energetic, head to the gym and fitness studio.

Using the highly acclaimed REN and ila product ranges, both known for their use of natural ingredients and a holistic approach, the spa focuses on natural balance through everything from facials to full body massages. Signature treatments range from reflexology to aromatherapy and to really help you unwind you can book a session in the isopod flotation tank.

Only one hour from London and 20 minutes by car from Gatwick, Ockenden Manor is an easy escape that’s worth the drive, not least of all for the restaurant. Award-winning dining ranges from their selected Cuckfield menu to a gastronomic seven course tasting menu and inspired wine list. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Head Chef Stephen Crane’s creations are worth visiting for in their own right. Have afternoon tea in the Drawing Room, sip Champagne on the sun soaked terrace and then treat yourself to the flavours of Sussex as you take in views of Cuckfield Park and the South Downs.
