Hotel & Accommodation
Surrounded by the Northumbrian countryside, Doxford Hall, is a perfectly manicured country house hotel and the proud bearer of a prestigious, four AA Red Stars. Contributing to this accolade is the sense of history alongside contemporary facilities across 31 rooms and suites, each of which is named after a Northumbrian castle or famous character from the North East’s history.
Priding itself on a high standard of service, the George Runciman Restaurant, named after the man responsible for much of the design work that characterises the hotel today, has been awarded two AA Rosettes for its menu of fresh and seasonal ingredients. Open throughout the day, and offering Afternoon Tea as well, the restaurant overlooks the estate, where, if you are extremely lucky, you might spot one of the red squirrels from the protected colony within the hotel’s gardens.
